Our experience in the surgery clinic was stellar. From the check-in staff to the rooming staff to the secretary who helped with paperwork to the financial counselor and of course Dr. Smith... Everyone took the time they needed to get me the care I needed and did so very efficiently! So thankful for the care and service you deliver. Please share with your team the incredible impact they have on people like me every single day.

I think you put too much emphasis on the unique person stuff. Staff politeness, courtesy and compassion trump all the nonsense about who someone thinks they are. If those 3 qualities are present it doesn't matter who you are.

Hi, I would just like to let you know that Dr. Travis Smith was very informative, very congenial. He listened very carefully to everything I had to say, to what my family had to say. I just have had such a wonderful visit with him. And the number I pressed in for that very first question should have been a 10, not a 1. And I just was so pleased with how informative he was. Everything about the appointment was super special. And please pass this on to him, that we thank him for his time spent with us.

As a survivor of severe physical and emotional abuse while growing up, that resulted in PTSD, I find it difficult to feel comfortable around men.  My appointment was with Dr. Travis Smith.  Prior to Dr. Smith coming into the room, his Resident came in.  I regret that I do not recall the Resident's name, because his manner was such that I immediately felt comfortable with him.  When Dr. Smith came into the room, it was GOOD to see him!  I knew from his welcoming smile that I would feel comfortable around him once again...and I certainly was.  Dr. Smith is an unusually kind and compassionate individual...and his wonderful personality is matched by his expertise.  Having a Doctor with his expertise is vitally important with the concerns I have about the particular health issue that he addressed.  Knowing that I'm getting the best possible care for an important issue is very comforting.  I appreciate him so very much.  Dr. Smith's personality is the perfect blend of the professional and the delightful...and I actually enjoyed my appointment!

The medical and surgical care provided was excellent .Post-op information was well outlined by Dr and MA. What wasn't discussed was management of pain control. Not that many years ago a leading question was are you having pain and was it controlled? The pain question is still asked but control of it kind of glossed over. That was the case yesterday. With the current opioid epidemic providers seem reluctant to prescribe adequate pain control post op I get it, They often recommend acetaminophen or oral antiinflamation drugs which in itself is fine. In my case I have stage 3 ckd and should definitely limit drugs like Advil. Part of the problem is the amount of paper work involved with RX's for controlled substances the other is reluctance for fear of addiction. In my career say after a bigger procedure I would prescribe 10 pills no refills that generally handled it. Dr's need to use common sense with controlled substances and limit the amount of medication, factor in the patients medical conditions, and prescribe accordingly. Its gotten to the point where if you ask for medication your looked at like a drug addict so what happens we dont ask and consequently suffer when adequate medication tailored to the individual would probably prevent it. I'm off my soap box, just my two cents for what its worth.
