I would like to say that the day I was there, Dr. Shah was overworked. I think I saw him for maybe about one minute and then he had to go on to the next patient. I don't know what happened that day, but when I've been there in the past, he's never been that busy that he couldn't take time to chit-chat with you a little bit. But I forgot now which number I pressed.

I was treated with respect and kindness. Everything went well.

I never understand what Dr Shah is thinking about my eyes and treatment. Communication with him is always poor. The rest of the staff is very pleasant and helpful.

Most of this was done really well. I wish that I wouldn't have had to sit and wait for so long as I did. Otherwise, it was great.

Team was working very hard to catch up on a busy day with an unexpected emergency surgery.

Dr. Shah is a great doctor with excellent rapport. I appreciate having his as my specialist!

I waited almost 2 hours. I had tests done and met with Dr. for approximately 5 minutes.

My chart is a ponderous experience for checking in. Sometimes it is not working in allowing a user to move forward through the questionnaire. Also, it does not seem synced with the check-in desks when you arrive because the helpers there ask you the same questions that you already took the time to answer on the MyCare website check-in.

Had to wait 2 hours after preliminary tests done to get in to see doctor. Everyone who came in after me with later appointments saw doctor and left. I had to see staff and ask if they were going to get me in. First staff said they could reschedule me. Second staff looked for paperwork and said he would get me in. He did. Doctor assistant left message for doctor to discuss possible surgery but doctor came in and took quick look at chart and said he would see me in two months. His other assistant talked to me after he left and was very helpful. She wanted to know if I wanted her to get doctor back in and she fully explained options in future for surgery and what to do if I had any problems (excellent person). Sorry, for complaining, but several other patients in waiting room had negative comments also. Originally very pleased with doctor but subsequent visits seem like I'm number and he has no time to discuss situation. Hope it was a one time situation. Will see on next visit

The provider is too rushed to spend any time with me or other patients. I feel that each visit is so short that I do not have enough information about my condition or if there are any changes from visit to visit. I understand you are trying to serve as many people as possible, but in doing so you have sacrificed individual care and support. Making frequent appointments is beyond challenging to say the least. There is frustration in feeling as I'm nothing more than a number.

Dr. Shah is great!

It was obvious the doctor was extremely busy on the particular day I was there. The wait time between steps seemed long. My entire experience lasted over 6 hours. Doctor was pulled in many different directions, including meetings with staff unrelated to the patients. I trust that the care I received was excellent, but I don't believe my needs were expedited in the proper manner.

I was impressed and reassured. Dr. Shah's schedule was interrupted by an emergency surgery. This assured me that if my loved ones or I ever needed emergency care, it would be provided when needed. I was so very impressed because after an emergency surgery and a waiting room filled with waiting patients, he was still able to explain my diagnosis and the next steps in restring my eyesight. Kudos to Dr. Shah and his team.

Dr Shah is one of the greatest physicians I have ever met He is so friendly and a true expert. He also talks to you instead of just looking at the computer like most physicians do today

When you have a new employee PLEASE train them more prior to putting them out to patients. We waited and waited for check out. It was very frustrating.

It was a long time to wait after Dr. Shah was called into an emergency. Understand but it was long. Everyone apologized,tho.

Waited over an hour in a tiny, cramped room (hallway) with too many people that I didn't want to be around. Not very private. Once I did get in to see the doctor, I was as impressed with him. His assistants did not seem very knowledgeable and some were not very friendly.

Glad to see Gundersen Health instead of pathetic EMPLFY. DR Sha is direct as well as a compassionate man. I have seen him many times over the past 2 years. We are so fortunate to have a Retina Specialist here at Gundersen

The service is excellent. I have no complaints about that. The only issue I have is the waiting area because you're in there for quite some time. It's very small, cramped, and very uncomfortable being that close to people.

Dr. Shah had people around him that were incompetent the other day. They did not do any of the procedures correctly before I seen him. People didn't know how to do the instruments or to take the pictures of the eye, and there were other things that were done halfhazard that was disappointing. As far as Dr. Shah goes, he's excellent, but they had some rookies around there that were not capable of doing the proper procedures. That's what I've seen, and that's what I feel bad for him. He's busier than you could be, anybody could be. But he has got some people that do the preliminary work, don't know what they all are doing.

Everybody who helped me, from the doctor to the people who checked me in, to the person who did the examination beforehand, to the people who assisted with the injection, everybody was courteous and helpful and made me feel comfortable and informed. So I want to thank everybody.

Dr. Shah and everyone are excellent. My only complaint is a long wait for MD and not others I seer several times. He is very good but I always have to wait a while for him. Maybe he's overbooked???

I sat for almost for 4 hours after my appointment and when they were ready nothing was done. I really don't what to do about my condition.

I felt the Dr. and the staff did the best they could to keep appt on time considering there is only one retinal specialist. Also the waiting room is very cold!! I understand the equipment needs to be in a cool low humidity environment, however the humans don't. Perhaps close off the vents in the waiting room and or supply warm blankets! Thanks

Dr. Shah is a great Doctor!! Informative and to the point. He did a fantastic operation on my eyes. Would recommend him 100 percent to anyone who has eye problems!!

There was a significant wait(well over 1 hour) between the prep work and actual visit with the doctor. It was long enough that later arrivals were taken to two other waiting areas. I completely understand that emergencies happen and support priortizing them however some type of communication with those waiting would have been appreciated.

After initial tests , I waited one and one half in waiting room before seeing the doctor. This was two long.

Excited to schedule cataract surgery, however, scheduler is out for 10 days. Find it strange there is only one scheduler at a facility as large as Emplify. Looking forward to hearing soon.

My visit took 2.5 hours from the time I arrived, got two quick eye tests, and then waited for the Dr. for about a 15 minute visit. For most of my visits to the clinic in other departments I get in at the time of my appointment and see the Dr. or NP or PA almost immediately. Ophthalmology needs to manage their appointment times more efficiently.

I had to wait 1 1/2 hours past my appt. time before I saw Dr. Shah. His assistant told patients waiting that they were running behind so I was expecting a wait. Secondary waiting room needs to be larger with more seating. Dr. Shah apologized for the wait and was very pleasant.

Would like the test results to be provided in mychart! Communication to my primary care giver

When I checked in, there were no check out people even working, so the 2 check in people had to do both jobs, when I left there were about 20 people waiting. I just left and called later. I got checked in and went back, my appointment was at 8:30, Dr. Shah was already about 20 minutes behind. I had to leave work for t his appointment. I think providers are forced to see to many patients in a day. No quality time with each one and they always run late. If a patient is 20 minutes late, they get turned away.

Dr. Shah is great about treating and monitoring my vision health. He always asks how I'm doing and puts me at ease. During his time with me, he treats his team with utmost respect. I am thankful to be in his care.

The doctor was great!!

You need to recruit another retinal specialist!! It was very busy, no chairs available in waiting room and there were elderly that needed to sit! Dr. Shah seemed very good with the time he had, but seemed very rushed!!

My appointment was at 10:15...I left the clinic at 12:30...This is a first. Normally the process takes an hour. Was this situation created by overbooking the schedule?

The wait time for my appointment was way beyond what the appointment was. Other than that, it was a very pleasant experience, but the wait time was almost ridiculously long. I hope someone can correct that in the future.

I find Dr. Syed amazing but I'm always horrified by how overly busy he is ! It's hard to completely trust someone who moves from one person to the next without catching his breath . He is a great actor but not the care I would expect for my dear eyes . One feels like just another number because that's what we are . Everyone in such a hurry ,hurry . It's a 3 hour visit for a 5 min. Check up and then a 2 hour drive . We have no choice with our health care system.

Dr. Shah is an excellent doctor. I feel comfortable with him. He's very exact in what he says and I appreciate having a doctor of his caliber. Bye-bye.

I am so impressed with the organization and flow of the entire visit from check in to check out. The large amount of patients of all ages and ethnicity, all personnel ensured narrators were available that kept the flow going for all patients.

When your appointment is at 10:00 and you don't get in to see the doctor until 11:40 you should be told to plan on waiting, shouldn't have to sit in waiting room and wonder if you have been forgotten.

I feel there are many patients scheduled to see the doctor do appointments tend to be rushed.

A very well run eye dept. So many patients but all the nurses and doctors keep things moving. Dr. Shah is wonderful. Explains everything well.

My appointment was to check if my eye had changed. I did not realize that any changes would be based on a check while I was wearing my glasses. Since I was wearing a different pair of glasses than my previous appointment -- ones that were several years old -- we were not able to judge if my eyes had changed. Since many people have multiple pairs of glasses, perhaps someone on the team could be designated to inform patients that they need to wear the same glasses for any return checks. Otherwise, my appointment was great. Everyone was very nice and they even got me in way early.

EVERYONE IS SO NICE AND THE WAITING IS MINIMAL. I WISH I COULD GET THIS DONE IN PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, OTHER THAN THAT IT IS A GOOD EXPERIENCE

Dr. Shah seems too busy. Appears frustrated when you ask questions, particularly if he's answered a question in a prior visit. Didn't explain why I'll always have blurry vision after surgery.

Doctor not very personal and doesn't explain anything

It was so unfortunate that that doctor did not come in for an hour and a half I waited. We were there on time, early, and got in and the pictures were taken and then the doctor did not come for an hour and a half. The waiting room was more than packed. They didn't have chairs for all the people waiting. Very poor planning. I don't know if it's the manager of the department or if it's totally the doctor dashing in at the last minute, but only saw the doctor for two minutes after waiting an hour and a half. Totally unacceptable. This is a specialist for a special need. Very disappointing.

I was in, my appointment was for 1 or for 12:30 and I didn't get done until a quarter after 2. And I just thought that was an awful long time for an appointment. That's all I want to say.

I had to wait almost an hour and a half in between the tests they did and the doctor showing up. They didn't even do the tests that were scheduled and I was told that they didn't need to. It was extremely frustrating.

Our appointment was at 9am. We didn't get seen until noon. Totally unacceptable! We did have a few tests done, but had to remind staff regarding one test. The Dr. was rushed and spent very little time with us. Talking with other patients (6) in the waiting room, they said their appointment was scheduled at 9am too. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and expected better from Gundersen.

The entire process was very professional and courteous. Answered my question and explained the entire process.

The only "complaint" I have was the check out process. I checked out around 3:45 there was one person working with a patient and another person just leaving. The check out person working with the patient was trying to make an appointment for him and was put on hold. Meanwhile I was next in line but the line grew longer. There should of been someone else there to help with checkout. The two check in people were sitting there doing nothing. I felt sorry for that check out person. She did aplogize for the wait and very professional.

Dr Shah was fantastic!! Great bed side manner and was clear and thorough with explaining my procedure and care after (post-op)..

Clinic was more relaxed then usual with fewer patients. Tech answered my questions about what to expect going forward with the eye shots. I was asking about what to expect in the future and if the shots would be required for a lifetime. First time to use valet, what a great option, so friendly.

Dr took the time to ask how far away I lived. I was able to get lens measurements the same day so I didn't have to drive back in

I had to wait an hour and a half. The doctor spent 3 minutes with me. The images of my eye did not load, so he couldn't show me anything. The entire experience was rude and disrespectful of my time.

I had a very good surgeon. He was super. He had an assistant. His nurses were great. Gundersen was a good place to have my eye surgery done at. And I sure appreciate all what you did for me. I can see good again, and thanks a lot. Have a Merry Christmas. Bye-bye.

I realize that the Doctor is extremely well liked and vey good at what he does and very busy but if you have an appointment at 8:30 you do not expect to wait 2to 3 hours for a 5 minute visit with the Doctor.

I was a new patient to this facility and was extremely impressed with the kindness of everyone that treated me.

Appointment was at 9:30 and wasn't seen until 10:45. An extremely long wait time! But the doctor was very thorough with us and took his time, do I am assuming he was equally as thorough with previous patients.

Dr Shah was great and competent. He talks fast therefore it is hard to follow his diagnosis and next steps. This did not decrease my belief in his competency. But it would be more helpful to patients to understand his diagnosis and next steps.

I felt like a number not a person.

I had difficulty obtaining information on how to use the prescribed eye drops leading up to my surgery next Wednesday. I called in and asked the question, and I have still not received a definitive answer. I got an answer, but it conflicts with other answers that I got. So I need clarification on how to use the three eye drops that were three different eye drops that were prescribed for me. Thank you.
