Health care is too expensive

When Gundersen became Emplify, it became harder to log in to My Chart. I realize that some people might need all the security and passwords, but I really don't. They only make it more difficult for me and very confusing.

Dr. Whitford suggested, recommended, told me I need to have cataract surgery in both eyes and he wanted to schedule it. He didn't have time to answer any questions. I've never known anybody that had cataract surgery. I have no idea what it entails, other than very general, or what I need to do afterward or how long. I live in the country alone. I'm older. I have two big rescue dogs and I do everything here. And somewhat crippled and there were no answers. They were just running behind time or something. And so I came home and I said, well, he said, well, you have to schedule them up. I said, no, and I don't know anything about this. So I went home and spent a couple hours trying to read from Mayo and from Johns Hopkins what cataract surgery involved and what you need to be careful of afterward and how long, and if there's two eyes, how soon can they schedule them together and what to do about driving, what to do, you can't get knocked over.

All the staff I dealt with was very courteous and professional

I told my regular eye dr I still had a problem in my left eye. Hope it is now fixed

All of the people there were very kind and very helpful and I can see again. And it was amazing and Doc was just superb. I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you.

I was a walk-in patient sent by my doctor from Richland Center Hospital. My first time ever there. I usually go to UW Madison. Everyone I encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. I felt so worried upon arriving at a new place. I felt immediately cared for from the moment I spoke to the receptionist. She made sure I understood where I needed to go. The next receptionist was equally kind and patient. The wonderful nurse who prepared my eyes was absolutely amazing! The doctor who I seen also immediately made me feel comfortable. He carefully explained everything I needed to know. I felt so relieved after I got back home because I had my answers. I'd never met any of this team before today. So thankful for the fact you all were open on a day after Christmas! Thank-You Everyone!

I had to wait almost 40 minutes before the doctor arrived. I felt like he was very busy. He did apologize for the wait. I felt he was a little rushed and tried to do the procedure before the pain meds kicked in.

I needed laser treatment for my right eye and the procedure took about 4 minutes and for that I had to wait one month for an appointment. I suffered with my sight for 6 months or so, couldn't drive or see much. I wish it wouldn't take so long to get an appointment. But now I see clearly so I'm more than happy. Thank you

Would make it easier if the building name could be added to visit address. This would get me to the right place faster. I went to founders building first instead of East.

My appointment was canceled unbeknownst to me. I l live 1 1/2 hours away so it would be quite inconvenient to come back another time. The scheduling person was extremely helpful arranging for me to be seen the same day.

I was waiting in the room for over 30 minutes to be seen. The doctor was 30 minutes late for my appointment.

They all did a great job, will definitely be going there again when needed, I like that they have a location in Winona Mn. close to where I live. Don't necessarily like the check-in online, too repetitive and if I had changes would stop @ a check-in with a real person.

Dr. Whitford is an experiences physician with a relaxed, caring bedside manner. He has been my ophthalmologist for several years who has taken excellent care of my vision. I am grateful for his care and expertise.

I would say another thing that's awkward is there's all kinds of prompts to check in online ahead of time. Why would I check in if I'm not

I am very satisfied with the care I receive from this organization. I do find My Chart a little challenging occasionally because I'm a not very tech-y senior citizen, but I suspect that younger users don't have any problems. So it's not really 'your fault'.

I do not like the check in questions regarding being sick, traveling and if this visit is related to an accident.

Too many texts about the same thing even after answering the question. Your appointment or go on my chart as many as 3 texts about the same question. Once it's confirmed it should end as it's very confusing especially to an elderly person.

I think your team there was very helpful in trying to diagnose and make decisions on the issues that I was having. Very practical as far as goals, as far as we can look for right now. I think I understood the information fairly well, so as usual or always, I appreciate your help.

We waited in the waiting room for what seemed like forever, then seen the doctor for a couple minutes and he told us about everything and split pretty quickly.

web site is very confusing, repetitve of things that don't need repeating, doesn't allow one to look back very far in health history, and leaves a LOT to be desired.

Was unable to have all of my testing completed because I was not told not to wear my contacts for two weeks prior to my appointment. Assistant that took me back and did the testing was very helpful. Doctor seemed rushed. Not even five minutes. Most of this was trying to get the equipment working.

Iunderstand we need security. BUT I don't like it at all.The constant reminders daily, and weeks before my actual appointment are annoying! And the automated phone calls are just as bad.an occasional reminder would be ok.

I think that the check-in process could have been improved. There was one staff member checking in a number of us who were waiting in line. I was really surprised as I am a former Gundersen employee in behavioral health. The other thing is that people were very personable, staff was personable, but I really felt like I was a number like I was being shepherded from one room to the next, hurriedly. I almost felt like I was an animal. It was a strange feeling and I am a highly sensitive person. So I think that needs to be improved. So, thank you.

I arrived 10 minutes late, and felt a cool reception. My mistake. Dr Whitford answered my questions about the odd situation of one cataract surgery at Mayo and referral to Gundersen for second surgery. Not the best situation. He dealt with it professionally.

Yeah, I had an excellent time. I mean, I liked it. They were better than some of the, sometimes I went to go to a male clinic. They're a little bit different. I think the people there are more prompt than the male clinic. Not all of them, but most of them. That's it.
