Dr. Kawata was very good. He had a good bedside manner. He discussed a lot of things with me, a lot of options. He did a rectal exam and he told me about my hemorrhage pretty much and he explained what procedures they could do and what they probably couldn't do and I understood completely what he was discussing with me. He's got a, he's a very friendly doctor and I really liked him and I would definitely come back and see him again. I did schedule an appointment for the end of May as he suggested and I can't do much until then. So yes, I was very happy with Dr. Kawata.

Very nice doctor and nurse.

Dr. Kawata did not inform me of what the physical exam would involve. He started the physical exam without informed consent which ultimately elicited a trauma response. I left my appointment feeling very unsafe and judged by the care team. I will never see or recommend Dr. Kawata or his team again.

Dr. Kawata was very informative and explained in great detail what the operation would entail. I appreciated that and the picture that he went over with me detailing what would happen during surgery. I feel very confident that I have the best care with Dr. Kawata.

First time at hospital. All went well. Need more signs for Elevator E location.

I find My Chart difficult to navigate at times. I am not very tech savvy. Maybe some form of instruction video, or class would help. The doctor is making a referral that would involve traveling. I would much rather have my appointments here at Mound View to avoid having to travel.

I was very impressed with Dr. Kawata. He explained every step of the process with detail and was very thorough. I was treated with respect and dignity by him and his staff. Well done!

It was a all around good experience, considering it was the first 6 month check back post after being cleared of further post cancer surgery exams.
- 4 out of 5 starsReviewed on 8/9/2025
My recommendation would be to encourage more regular practices regarding walking patients through exams and respecting consent and privacy, for example. As part of my examination, a blanket was held up behind me to protect my privacy for a moment prior to the exam. Both the doctor and his resident stood in front of the blanket, which completely defeated the purpose of the blanket protecting my privacy.
