I'm wondering why I was sent to la Crosse instead of Lancaster which would have saved me 140 miles and over 2 hours of driving time?

I have complete confidence with Dr. Shappel. (I wish I could say the same about insurance coverage of a drug she ordered (eye gtts) I am still waiting to see if they will cover a drug to help prevent glaucoma chances.

The nurse that administered a shot gave me the most painful experience by far in all the times I've gone for a shot in my eye.

Everyone was professional, friendly, and helpful. My only concern was that I was there for an eye appointment, missed seeing the sign that I was in valet parking and was instructed Twice I was in the wrong parking lot. The first man explained to me I had parked in the wrong area, I apologized as I did not see the sign and the second person was gruff and somewhat rude.

At checkout time there was only 1 person available and people were standing in line with questions, trying to make appointments and check in. Time was 3:35pm

This doctor is super. So easy to communicate with and always a smile. Also very much like her assistant. This one was a very tall guy. Very knowledgeable and lots of patience with my husband who has very bad vision.

It's really too hard to tell beyond initial appointment how proficient the provider is. I'll know more after surgery. Then I'll be able to articulate a more concise and helpful recommendation.

I could have had another rinse of the eyes. I was much foggier then I have been in the past.

Dr Shappell does a very through explanation of what's going on with my eyes. As a retired RN , I am very pleased with her work ethic. I trust her very much.

I find the "CODE" that you receive via e-mail or text not convenient. I was told that I would only have to do that once a year which would be a relief. What happened to that situation???

Ophthalmology check in and check out our laborious. People wait in line too long. Not enough staffing to handle the need notice this on more than one occasion. Could sense other patients waiting had similar thoughts regarding this needs improvement.

I got a referral from the Ho-Chunk Nation and received a call from Gunderson the next day to set up my eye appointment. I had an appointment within 10 days. The appointment went well and I'm set for surgery next month.

Very happy with everything associated with mt Dr visit yesterday.

I don't use My Chart so would not be fair to judge that. However my check in was supposed to be 9.20 and I received a text asking if I was in the building at 9.00? I thought check in was supposed to be 9.20?? The visit was good, no problems. Thank you

I felt confident and included in the decision making process. Patient education information was excellent as well.

It was very good. I am always treated very well at Gundersen.

The medical assistant was very helpful.

I was pleased to see new furniture in the waiting room. The previous furniture was disgusting and in dire need of replacing. there are still some waiting rooms in the clinic that need updating. Cloth chairs do not belong in a clinical environment.

I waited 7 months for this visit to get my new prescription.. my visit with DR shappell was excellent but the eye glass store failed me by not being able to get the type of glass material i needed for new lenses.. my journey for new glasses took me elsewhere.

Check in rep was in training. She did not complete the intake. I sat waiting for 20 minutes. Human error.

I love Gundersen Clinics and Hospital. I think it's high time that the LaCrosse and surrounding communities have a big party to celebrate this amazing family and their medical contributions to all of us!

I did not appreciate the Dr's response "Go have some fun" when I was expressing concern about how I would recognize bleeds I could have with my going off the injection which I'm glad I can do as I only have peripheral vision in my other eye. I use the grid and see the lines the same whether I have had bleeds or not. In fact I had fun in Oshkosh the day before and a lot of fun a few days before doing one of my favorite sports; a good dancer. I play hard and I work hard. Am pleased Dr. will see me back in 12 weeks. I do not understand when I message the Dr. the Dr. does not get/see the messages. I do expect my messages to be read by the person I address the message to; not an assistant. I do highly respect this Dr's expertise.

The patient liaison person who checked me in talked much too loudly. Needs training on voice loudness to ensure confidentiality. Lady with long black hair. Otherwise great experience.
