It was hard to get beyond the copay to finish checking in. It kept asking me to pay ahead of my appointment. Seemed a bit insistent.

I have been frustrated by the difficulty in getting appointments for needed procedures. There doesn't appear to be a way to avoid long delays and changes.

1. In regards to last question: I'm not a digital person and am selectively disconnecting from technology. 2. Im not a fan of being barraged by texts, emails and voicemails in order to get me to fill out this survey, which doesn't appear to have much useful substance. 3. The best part of the "experience?" (It's not a trip to the mountains or beach, after all) was having A most knowledgeable professional, Jordan, be my connection with the specialty.

Since I was new to him, he took time to thoroughly review my chart. He didn't walk into the session blind.

The doctor answered all my questions. He gave me very good suggestions.

Jordan listened and showed me examples of different possible situations and outcomes. Along with showing my x rays and CT scans to hep me understand what might be going on. He didn't just jump to a conclusion with what was happening but a path towards finding that out.

Long walk to get to appointment

The staff seemed competent and caring.

I found this appointment completely useless. The NP obviously can't make a decision without the MD, so why have me meet with someone who couldn't provide answers or next steps? Why not meet directly with the MD? Additionally, NP JK said he would have a note in MyChart regarding next steps etc., but the only note is a summary of this wasted appointment. This is why healthcare is so expensive - unnecessary appointments with middlemen that don't provide any value.

Jordan had obviously gone through my VA chart thoroughly and had seen everything I had been through over the years. I was much more impressed with him than on my previous visit to West Union. My only complaint was that the nurse who called me back didn't say my name correctly or even use the nickname provided. When I corrected her, she just gave me a look and repeated the incorrect name. Overall the visit exceeded my expectations especially after my visit with the doctor previously.

Jordan is non-judgemental and easy to talk to. He listens and gives good advice on things to try.

It was a long wait to get in for an appointment. Even follow up appointments are scheduling months out.

I was seen in a very timely manner, nurse or assistant was kind and helpful. Doctor was thorough and engaging to my situation. This was my first visit, and found my experience was very good.

I debated up until literally the day before as to whether I wanted to keep this appointment as I wasn't sure if I really needed it. After going I was very happy that I kept it. Even though he determined there was not a need for additional major testing done, I felt very relieved after this visit. He really listened to everything I had to say and had experienced. He researched things about me and my habits to come to this decision. He also made me feel very secure in that if anything else was questionable that I could easily contact him and he would put orders in to do further testing. I was very happy with his knowledge, how he treated me as a patient and how he informed me. I felt really good after leaving this appointment. When I first went in I felt very unsure of things and scared. By the time I left, I felt very informed, more knowledgeable and no longer scared, but confident in dealing with my particular issues.

It's hard to get appointments in the GI Dept. Even when your provider requests a 3-month follow-up I could not schedule that. I need to wait a couple of weeks and try again. This has happened to me before. I realize they are very busy. Thank you for providing health care in La Crosse!
