The only thing I would like more is if the PT program hooked into MyChart. And MyChart should allow more flexibility in running reports of the data. Example. I was asked to furnish a report of all of my providers for the last 3 years. With contact info and first and last seen dates. That should be a simple query

My appointment with Cariissa Verkuilan was very complete. She listened and suggested an abdominal x-ray which was very much appreciated. She also assured me that she would follow up on the results. Also gave suggestions to address the pain that I was experiencing. She also looked at a past concern, a tick bite, and assured me it was not a Lyme bite. Thank you for the great appointment.

Carissa is a wonderful practitioner who listens well, and is always pleasant. She is very knowledgable and also researches topics on the spot for more information. She treats me like I am her only patient while she is with me and even after our appointment she often follows up with further advice. I gave the technology a lower score because MyChart is great, but the website can be frustrating when I am looking for a provider or other information.

I absolutely think Carissa is one of the best providers I've ever had. Gunderson in general has good care. However, there is an issue with something else that bothers me a lot. I spoke to Carrissa about it. There is no documentation for when the lab or any employee misses or "blows" a vein. The lack of documentation for this means that I keep getting into tense situations with the phlebotomists or others there to take blood or start an IV. Thankfully, I now have a standing order for my leg. But, even that required a lot of problems because wherever it was originally posted wasn't seen or some lab people didn't know where to look for it. Other lab people have said they are uncomfortable and wanted a different person to take the blood. While I know it is a rare situation, it needs addressing because I've been put through the ringer by people who don't believe it is impossible to draw from my arms, even with an ultrasound. And they think I'm being afraid of needles or just weird by insisting on going in my leg as directed. If these people could see notes from other lab and IV specialists, they would not treat me like this is my first time dealing with this. And, keeping track of how many people have blown a vein in my arms or legs, feet, and ankles should also be a good indicator to others. Please make notes a part of protocol for when an IV specialist with ultrasound is missing or blowing veins. I'm not saying every little miss should be noted. I'm saying that a situation needs to be recorded when it happens. Every person who has ever had a tough time with me and has missed several times or even blown several veins just walks away without making any notes. Because there is no place for them to make a note! It's ridiculously poor service in this one area. And yet, you all are so good at emphasizing every provider understands their patient. Total disconnect in this one area.

Carissa is a good listener, patient, highly knowledgeable and thorough in her diagnosis and treatment plans. I trust her advice and I believe she has my best interest at heart. I am so grateful to have her as my provider.
