Had eye surgery 8 years ago, been back every year since, The staff do a wonderful job of taking care of me and my eyes

During a recent VA approved eye examination, I was very strongly encouraged to see my personal eye doctor because I likely needed a lazer treatment in both eyes after cataract removal surgery. Then my long-time eye doctor, Dr. Brad Collins, examined me thoroughly and explained that my vision was 20:20 and there was no sign of a problem following cataract removal surgery. Dr. Collins put an abrupt end to my unnecessary worry, and proved once again why he is one of my most favored doctors within the entire Gundersen/Emplify medical system.

1. Some of testing was done by new technician with a mentor present. New person wasn't getting correct readings, mentor had to correct her in front of me. Unfortunately, lead me to not have any confidence in new technician. Suggestion: Have new technician and mentor leave the room with patient to discuss incorrect readings and then return to room to make corrections. Mistakes & corrections being done in front of patient was not a good situation.

Left alone in room for 45 minutes with no explanation. Visit was over 2 hours for simple eye appointment. Poor experience

Dr. Collins was kind, explained things in a way that made sense, and answered all my questions. And he has a great sense of humor which was a bonus. All the staff from check in to check out were great. I also witnessed another doctor in the department who helped a person with mobility issues to the restroom. It's clear that everyone sees patient care of any kind as their sole purpose.

Dr Collins gave me three options to try for my eye issues. I appreciated his honesty and caring for my situation.

My doctor was great but I did have to wait quite awhile for him to arrive. He did say he was delayed because of a situation and I do understand, but someone should let patients know if your doctor is more than 15 min.

It is obvious that Gundersen (Emplify) emphasizes patient care from the receptionist to the MA to the physician. The entire team treats patients with courtesy respect and in a very professional yet friendly manner which is much appreciated.

The tech who did the preliminary testing was outstanding re: 'bedside manner'. I'm a very nervous patient and I felt very comfortable.

Regarding My Chart. When it becomes useful to contact a provider, My Chart force feeds the categories making it difficult to say exactly what one wishes to say.

All staff were very friendly and helpful!

Dr. Collins addresses every issue and concern always checking to be sure he was clear and no other questions go unanswered. He explains test results and future treatment fully. One leaves the appointment with complete confidence in Dr. Collins and the level of expertise he provides.

I feel I get the greatest care from this provider. Dr Collins is a ROCK STAR!

Overall, the treatment of the patient was excellent, starting from the reception to the nurse person, the doctor. So I will continue to encourage you to keep up the excellent services offered to patients, especially with respect to being patient, being careful, being diligent, being courteous, taking things step by step without being in a rush. Ability to explain carefully to patients at every point what the patient needs to know.

Great experience

Parking was not so good. Had the drive around for quite some time before I found a parking spot.

Dr. Collins was very professional, kind and knowledgeable.

He's been very knowledgeable and helpful with my eye care. I trust him to help me with my vision and health care!

The doctor and the nurse were extremely wonderful and knowledgeable. I just want to say checking in, there could be a sign for children, no running, and parents keep their children under control for screaming and running and taking things. It was a horrible visit watching other people almost get run over by these kids, people that don't see very properly. And the people at the way left check-in just said, oh, that's okay. That was not okay. But I know they probably couldn't say anything, but two kids running steady, and the mom with little pigtails in her hair and all green hair, just looked at them. So if there could be a sign up, no running and screaming, please, because there's adults that could trip over these kids. Thank you.

My care is not user friendly but thankfully my recent appointment was great because it didn't include My Care. My appointment required an additional treatment which Dr. Collins arranged immediately and it went well.

Great service and advice on future options from Dr Collins

Dr. Collins saw something that needs follow up care. He prescribed eye drops and will see me in two weeks. It is reassuring not to have to wait a long time before having an appointment.

Dr. Collins is the BEST. He spends time with you and is always making sure you are taken care of. During and after the visit. You need more doctors like him. Don't ever let him go. I really don't know where I would go for eye care if he wasn't there. Take good care of him. Thanks Dr. Collins. You are superb.

Overall, a great provider and one that I would trust my eyesight to. I will not change providers at any time.

Dr. Collins was very well acquainted with my eyes and how well they were functioning. He was quite good with expressing what were options for future services, including that my eyes were in fine condition with no need for any short term or even long term treatment.

Dr. Collins did a tremendous job assessing my eyes to determine the cause of my blurriness. I appreciate the extra time he took and explanation to me given my lack of knowledge regarding the eyes!

Had to wait a while after check in to be called.

I saw chipped paint, dust, and fingerprints on some of the equipment in the room, and a chipped wood cabinet. It shows a lack of attention to detail, cleanliness and maintenance which lessens the confidence I had in Gundersen, now Emplify. There still seems to be a post-Covid pall lingering.

Everyone there is really nice and wonderful. BUT... I had to wait a really long time to see the provider. I was there at 7:30 AM and first had to do some testing - which took about 20-30 minutes. I didn't see the provider until around 9:20. I had another appointment in Onalaska at 10:00 and I seriously thought I was going to have to leave before seeing the provider. I'm not sure exactly what time I was on his schedule because MyChart only showed that my appt was at 7:30. Luckily, I did manage to get out on time, but it seems crazy that an eye appt should take over 2 hours. I'm sure at least an hour of that time was spent waiting. However, I do want to reiterate that every person there was very nice and I have no plans to switch my care elsewhere. :-)

Both the technicians and Dr. Collins were very thorough, very friendly, and they didn't seem like they were hurried, were both very down to earth and both did an excellent job.

I am extremely thankful for ability to be seen same day in Optometry for new change in my vision. Dr Collins was very helpful in examining my eye, having retinal photos taken and then explaining to me what happened in the back of my eye to cause vision change. Thank you for rapid access to Optometry Clinic as well as Dr Collins' helpful evaluation and explanation.

I was a walk in due to an eye problem and was seen with 20 minutes of check in. Dr Collins was great.

Dr. Collins was an aggressive, take care of me type of doctor. He realized that, I'm sorry, I realized that maybe my old ophthalmologist was just coasting to a retirement. Dr. Collins was aggressive in treating me, letting me know what I got to do, what could happen, and what's going to happen. And then he went out of his way to get one of his colleagues to give me a laser treatment. And after 24 hours from that, I'm feeling and looking and reading a lot better because of him. I hope he stays at Gundersen for a long time because this man deserves to be in that department and I'm glad he's my new ophthalmologist. Thank you.

Dr. Collin's male technician is in the wrong profession.

Dr. Collins has been a huge help to me as I've aged and encountered new vision issues. He encouraged me to have two cataracts removed by the best doctor to do this work; then recently had me see an excellent doctor to give me lazer treatments in both of those eyes. Dr. Collins has been my "go to" vision doctor for more than a decade, and has always been highly professional, thorough and very competent. I have recommended Dr. Collins to a half dozen or more of my friends and colleagues, and will continue to do so as he is a terrific eye doctor in every way.

Dr. Collins is very good. The tech lady that did the initial eye checks is also very good at what she does. Both know their trade and have great, caring personalities. I'm sorry I can't remember her name.

My experience at Emplify is always pleasant. From the front desk to the nurses then the Drs. Everyone is more than helpful & pleasant!!!

It always amazes me how the technology changes between my annual eye appointments. So reassuring to know I am being examined using new and/or improved procedures. From start to finish my appointment was very smooth and I was treated as a valuable person.

Everything was excellent, just wonderful.

Dr Collins is very good ?

I still find parts of MyChart to be cumbersome and/or confusing to find things. It's good in many ways, but finding some post visit information isn't the best.

I wish you would add additional vision insurance. You used to accept VSP, then I thought BCBS vision but you didn't. I would prefer to have my glasses prescription filled by you but you don't take any other insurance!!

Our visit with Dr. Collins, as usual was exceptional. He knows my Mom's history very well and does his very best to keep her eyes comfortable. He treats her kindly and with respect. Also, his upbeat attitude is great!
